Week 8 High School Pick’em

It’s another huge MAIS vs. MHSAA matchup in Madison County this week, as undefeated Jackson Prep will host the defending MHSAA 6A state champions West Jones, who is also undefeated on the season. The Patriots lost in this matchup last year at West Jones, falling 21-6 in that matchup. Defense has been the calling card for Jackson Prep this season, holding opponents to just over seven points per game, and the Patriots will need that type of performance defensively to knock off a very talented West Jones team in this one.

This week’s guest picker is former PGA tour golfer and Jackson Prep alum, Jonathan Randolph. Upon graduating from Jackson Prep, Randolph went onto play at Ole Miss, where he was an All-American and has since been inducted into the Ole Miss M-Club Sports Hall of Fame. In his professional career, he earned his PGA tour card for three different seasons, playing in 78 PGA tour events, including events like the U.S. Open.
