GLUCKSTADT — Two men have been arrested and charged in two separate instances in the same week with trafficking ecstasy.

The first man, Antoine Williams, 41, of Canton, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance following his arrest on Tuesday, August 6, Police Chief Berry Hale said.

The second arrest, Joshua Wilson, 34, of Durant, came on the following Thursday, Hale said. Wilson is charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and a felon in possession of a firearm.

“Thank you to the hard working men and women at the Gluckstadt Police Department who through hard work and dedication were able to get these dangerous drugs off our streets and put these criminals behind bars where they belong,” Hale said. “Good job, Gluckstadt Police Department.”

According to Hale, GPD officers encountered Williams around 8:04 p.m. near the intersection of Church Road and Old Jackson Street.

Williams was pulled over for illegal tint, and he was found to be in possession of several pills as well as crushed powder believed to be MDMA, also known as Ecstasy. Hale said he was also in possession of marijuana at this time.

Officers encountered Wilson on August 8, at 8:05 p.m., on I-55 near the Sowell Road Exit. Hale said that he was also pulled over for illegal tint. Hale said Wilson was found to be in possession of over 200 pills believed to be MDMA, over 30 grams of marijuana, and a firearm.
