Here is the state tournament schedule for remaining area MAIS and MHSAA basketball teams, as they enter the final week of the season. All MAIS games will take place at Mississippi College and all MHSAA games will be played at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

The Jackson Prep boys basketball team opened the MAIS overall state tournament with a 64-53 win over Heritage Academy on Tuesday night. 

Local basketball teams advance to quarterfinals

Eleven area basketball teams are still alive in the state quarterfinals as of Wednesday, with several huge matchups upcoming late in the postseason.
