Madison’s Swing Into Summer makes its 2023 return on May 4 downtown behind the red caboose on Main Street.

This popular family-friendly event gives parents time to relax, eat hot dogs and listen to local bands like The Magees and Travelin’ Jane while kids enjoy train rides, inflatables, arts and crafts, face painting, and other fun activities.

Amy Cummins, director of Community Partners in Madison, said Swing Into Summer takes place on May 4 and May 18 this year from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“This is my second year coordinating Swing Into Summer, and I feel this will strengthen community pride and involvement,” Cummins said. “This is a fun event for all ages and all are invited to bring their chairs and blankets.”

Community Partners is providing popcorn and popsicles for the kids, and Community Bank is grilling hot dogs.

Cummins said different  activities for kids will be held on both days, including a mobile library, arts and crafts, face painting, tattoos, and more.

“This event has been going on for around 12 years and is a family tradition,” Cummins said. “The Magees will play on May 4 and Travelin’ Jane will play on May 18.”

Parking for the event will be across the street at First Baptist Church.
