RIDGELAND — A Ridgeland man was arrested for allegedly trafficking a controlled substance following his arrest here at the first of the month.

The man, Justyn Wilson, 26, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession with Intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, and child endangerment, according to Lt. Brett Bertucci of the Ridgeland Police Department

On Oct. 1, at about 4 p.m., Ridgeland Police, with assistance from other agencies, executed a narcotics search warrant at 296 Planters Grove, Bertucci said.

According to Bertucci, as a result of the search warrant, detectives seized about 9.7 pounds of marijuana, 32 ounces of THC wax, and about 2.7 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms as well as two handguns and two AR-style pistols.

Bertucci said an 11-month-old child was found asleep in a bedroom within close proximity to the unsecured firearms and narcotics.

“Child Protective Services was notified, and the child was placed into the custody of a family member,” Bertucci said.

The Ridgeland Police Street Crimes Unit, Ridgeland Police narcotics detectives and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics served the warrant.
