Miss Madison County Gracie Bassett, a senior in the Honors College at Mississippi College double majoring in biology and chemistry medical sciences, competed in the 2024 Miss Mississippi Pageant last week in Vicksburg.
Bassett, who plans to attend medical school to become a radiologist after college, was one of the first preliminary winners in the pageant after the first night of competition for winning the talent portion.
She performed “Mephisto Waltz No. 1” by Franz Liszt on the piano.
She finished in the Top 10 this year and also won the Alpha Interview Award given for first-time contestants.
