MADISON — A Ridgeland man allegedly drove his heavy-duty truck pickup truck into a house in Tidewater last month while intoxicated.

The man, Marshall Richmond, 24, was arrested and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, felony damage to public property, and felony malicious mischief, Madison police Lt. Micah Taylor said.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, at about 2 a.m., Madison Police responded to the Tidewater subdivision to a report of a large white truck driving recklessly in the subdivision.

According to Taylor, when officers arrived, they found a light pole had been struck and a culvert damaged. A house on Tidewater Lane near the intersection with Woodbridge Drive had two vehicles damaged, and a garage door had sustained “heavy damage.”

Taylor said officers observed “physical evidence” in the roadway and were able to track that to a residence in Ridgeland off of Overlook Pointe Circle, where a damaged white Ford 250 was found.

Richmond was identified as the driver of the truck and was arrested shortly after 3 a.m., Taylor said. Richmond was reportedly still drunk at the time of his arrest.

His bond was set at $26,000.
