RIDGELAND — City officials say that about $2.2 million in road work that began on County Line Road in March should be completed by the end of the month.

Public Works Director Alan Hart said the contractor had completed the concrete work, base repairs, and the surface course portion of the project on County Line Road that Ridgeland shares with the city of Jackson.

The project also includes some traffic signal upgrades.

“All that is left is the final striping that should be complete by the end of the month pending final inspection,” Hart said.

Hart said the notice to proceed with the project was dated March 1. At the last city board meeting, Hart presented AJ Construction Inc. of Pearl with a pay estimate for $889,681 for work completed.

The project is funded through a $1.84 million grant from the Metropolitan Planning Organization and is matched with $268,000 from Ridgeland and $268,000 from Jackson.
