Charles “Chuck” Ray Buckley, III, 56, passed into the arms of Jesus unexpectedly on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on November 1, 1965 to Sandra Buckley Pruitt and the late Charles Ray Buckley, Jr. He grew up in the tight knit Queens neighborhood in West Jackson and graduated from Magnolia Academy in 1983.

He married his wife of 31 years, Angela “Angie” Churchwell Buckley, in 1991 and loved her deeply until his final day. Chuck and Angie raised two sons, Ross and Trey, in Madison, Mississippi. Chuck was deeply proud of his son Ross for all his athletic and academic accomplishments, and they had many similar interests. They spent many weekends together hunting in the woods of Lorman, Mississippi and fishing his beloved Ross Barnett Reservoir. Chuck was very proud of Trey for his academic and business accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time with Trey fishing on the pier, talking about life and Ole Miss Sports. They both enjoyed the many projects they took on remodeling Chuck and Angie’s dream home on the lake together. Chuck and Angie enjoyed their time on the water together, watching sunsets from the back porch and taking many boat rides. He spent his last years enjoying the beautiful Lake Caroline fishing and being in the water with close friends. Chuck was a devoted Ole Miss fan, and he could be found in the Grove before almost every football game.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Angie Buckley; two sons Ross Buckley (Shelby) of Vicksburg, MS; and Trey Buckley of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; mother Sandra Buckley Pruitt of Richland, MS; brother and sister in-law Jason and Kendall Churchwell and niece Summer Churchwell and nephew Preston Churchwell of Brandon, MS; mother and father-in-law Shirley and Robert Churchwell of Madison, MS; and his constant companion and “best boy” Drake.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Buckley Jr., his maternal grandparents, Mary Lee Simon and James Buckley Simon, and his paternal grandparents, Charles Ray Buckley and Clydean Buckley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 4, 2022 at Parkway Funeral home in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
