Linda Jeanette Holloway, 75, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at Trace Ridge Church in Ridgeland, MS, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m..  A graveside service will follow at Jessamine Cemetery.

Jeanette was born to Floyd and Ruth Sellers on July 2, 1949, in St. Joseph, Michigan.  She was raised in Benton Harbor, MI, and attended Berrien Springs Baptist Church where she submitted her life to Christ at age 12. Her love of hymns and Southern Gospel flourished under the care of her father, who led music at their church; she began playing piano and organ at an early age and nurtured this skill into adulthood, later fostering a love of music in her son and granddaughter. Jeanette was a graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Moving to Mississippi in the 1970s for a dietetic internship, Jeanette began working with Valley Food Services and continued as a Clinical Dietitian, serving Woman’s Hospital, St. Catherine’s Village, the Valley Food Services corporate office, and the Mississippi State Hospital. She later worked with and retired from UMMC’s Batson Specialty Clinic.

Shortly after moving to MS in the early 1970s, a coworker introduced her to Elton and they quickly fell in love and later married on July 12, 1975.  Jeanette was a fierce supporter of her family and community, championing excellence, compassion for others, and dedication to Christ.  Jeanette was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where she taught 2nd grade Sunday School, numerous Vacation Bible Schools, and Royal Ambassadors children’s missions program. Jeanette served from 2010-2020 as a volunteer Dietitian at the Caring Hands Clinic in Madison (now Mission First Madison Clinic). She later attended First Baptist Church of Madison where she provided logistical and communication support to medical missionaries serving in various dangerous areas of the world.  Jeanette also served in local parent-teacher organizations and was a regular substitute teacher for Madison County Schools, where she deeply cared for the students in her charge. Jeanette greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and church, candy-making, cake-decorating, needlepoint, and telling all who would listen about her granddaughter, Sadie.

Jeanette will be remembered as a beloved wife, a cherished mother, a devoted grandmother, a loving sister, aunt and friend, a child of God, and a servant to her fellow man.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Sellers, infant brother, Lawrence Sellers, sister, Colleen Wheat, and brother, Raymond Sellers. Survivors include her husband, Elton Dewitt Holloway of Ridgeland; son, Daniel Holloway and his wife, Emily, and their daughter, Sadie, of Gluckstadt; sister, Lydia Tabbey and her husband Mike of Benton Harbor, MI; sister-in-law, Susan Sellers of Fruitport, MI; brother-in-law, John Wheat of Brandon; nieces and nephews, Megan Bankston and her husband Colby of Clinton; Paul Sellers and his wife Chrisma of Muskegon, MI; Jaime Sloan and her husband Brett of Grand Haven, MI; Rachel Tabbey of South Bend, IN; and Rebeka Revis and her husband David of Indianapolis, IN.

Memorials may be made to the missions funds of First Baptist Church of Madison or Trace Ridge Church in Ridgeland.
