Wayback Burgers owner Govinda Krishna says his main goal is to make sure each customer is satisfied and that everyone is served with a smile.

“People really like the atmosphere and this restaurant is somewhere you can come and relax with your family,” Krishna said. “Before Wayback came to Gluckstadt, people wanted more options than just a couple of fast food places. We are happy to be able to serve Madison County.”

Krishna is a Sri Lanka native and came to the United States when he was 20 years old to attend college and has lived in Madison for almost four years.

He said his favorite meal there is the “Cheeeesy Burger” with fried pickles and ranch, and he recommends this combo to any new customers visiting.

“If I want to kick it up a notch, I add extra mayo and jalapenos to my burger,” he said.

Krishna said many customers have asked if Wayback will expand more across Mississippi, and he said he might open a second location in Flowood at some point in the future.

“We’re just happy to be here in Gluckstadt and we will keep using the best, top-notch ingredients in our food,” he said.

Wayback Burgers was founded in 1991 in Newark, Delaware, and is an international fast-casual restaurant franchise with a reputation for an environment that takes customers back to a simpler time, when customer service meant something, and everyone felt the warmth of the community.

The burger franchise currently operates in 35 states with over 166 locations in the United States, Brunei, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, The Netherlands, Manitoba, Canada, Ireland, and Japan.

Wayback Burgers in Gluckstadt is located at 1091 next to Smallcakes Cupcakery. For more information about the restaurant, call them at (601) 790-7544, or visit their website at www.waybackburgers.com.
