St. Francis replacing church building

MADISON – St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is planning to demolish one of the oldest buildings on their campus.

Madison Alderman voted on July 5 to approve and issue a building permit to JH&H Architect, which set plans in motion to replace the old St. Anthony Hall on the church campus with a new brick building that matches the brick design of the other buildings on the property.

As of now, the planned name for the new building is Sister Clare Hogan Hall.

St. Anthony Hall was built approximately 40 years ago. St. Francis leadership is desiring to replace the old wood-framed modular building with a new code-compliant building which tremendously upgrades the exterior aesthetics to match the church campus design.

St. Francis says this would enhance the exterior environment for the surrounding neighborhood and community.

This new building will be one story tall and approximately 6,500 square feet.

The existing St. Anthony building will be demolished, and Sister Clare Hogan Hall will be constructed in the same spot.

St. Francis is located at 4000 W Tidewater Lane in Madison. For more information, call the church office at (601) 856-5556.
