The UMMC Center for Integrative Health will host its third annual Spring into Wellness event on Saturday, May 4 at the Holmes Community College Wellness & Fitness Center. The event will feature a 5K race, family fun run, and community health fair, offering Mississippians of all ages and fitness levels an opportunity to focus on their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being through exercise and health education.

From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the community is invited to join in free wellness activities, including a chair yoga class, Zumba, acupuncture, massages, health screenings, a farmer’s market, healthy snack demonstrations, children’s crafts, wellness trivia and door prizes.Registration is also free for the family fun run, a nearly one mile run on the Holmes campus beginning at the wellness & fitness center and turning around at the library.

The registration fee for the 5K walk/run is $40, but early bird pricing of $30 is available until April 15. To guarantee a race t-shirt in their size, runners must register by Thursday, April 17. However, participants can register online through the morning of the event, and in-person at the Holmes Community College Wellness and Fitness Center entrance starting at 7:30 a.m. on race day.

The Center for Integrative Health, with its team of psychiatrists, psychologists, registered dietitians, physical therapists, nurse practitioners trained in lifestyle medicine, and physicians, is dedicated to improving the health of Mississippi by addressing each patient’s unique circumstances and helping them overcome barriers to positive change.
