Ridgeland man arrested after chase
A Ridgeland man is being held with charges pending after leading authorities on a high-speed chase on the interstate through Jackson on Wednesday.
The man has been identified as Joseph Rouser, 45, of Ridgeland, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper First Class Darnika Mayfield.
“This incident is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol,” Mayfield said.
At approximately 12:13 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, MHP Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Rouser traveling north on I-55 near Woodrow Wilson Boulevard.
“The driver led State Troopers in a pursuit that ended near Briarwood Drive,’ Mayfield said.
Rouser was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond. Mayfield said charges against the driver are pending.
