Revell Ace Hardware welcomed to Madison

MADISON — Revell Ace Hardware has expanded with its eighth location, this one on Highway 51 here, officially opening last week after months of renovations and preparation.

The location was formerly Madison Ace Hardware. Revell has seven other locations, including Bryam, the Reservoir, Clinton, Richland, Pearl, Northeast Jackson, and South Jackson, along with two standalone stores in Pearl, Revell Outdoor Power and Revell Supply Group. 

Madison alderman approved the renovation and remodeling plans in November 2022. 

The city held a ribbon cutting last Thursday to celebrate the opening. City officials, including aldermen and Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler, were present along with Revell Ace employees and local business leaders.

Joe Rooks, one of the owners of Revell Ace, said the idea for coming to Madison has been 30 years in the making and opening was one of the easiest transitions he’s ever done. 

“Last July we got to work with a lot of good people,” Rooks said. “Customers have been overwhelmingly supportive of what we’re doing. It was a lot of work, as you can see from the before and after, but we have a great team.” 

Rooks thanked and recognized all of the Revell Ace staff members and thanked the city for being so welcoming. 

“You say that this community is a great place for family business and for dreaming big,” Rooks said to Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler. “It’s been a dream for a long time.” 

Hawkins-Butler was appreciative. “Thank you for the confidence you have in us, and for believing this is the place to be,” she said. “Thank you for investing in us.”
