Pediatric Haven coming to town this summer

GLUCKSTADT — Residents here can expect a new Pediatric Haven location this summer.

The new location on Lexington Drive will be Pediatric Haven’s second with the other in Pearl. 

Pediatric Haven specializes in childcare instructors who use practical strategies, techniques, and tools for working with children of all developmental backgrounds. 

Their goal is for children to achieve their highest potential in an appropriate and inclusive early childhood environment. For them, high-quality child care is a priority for parents of children with and without disabilities. According to their website, the clinic offers a happy and warm atmosphere with well-trained staff. 

Pediatric Haven Administrator Tiffany Scott said the idea for a location in Gluckstadt started during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“During that time we realized the strain some of the parents had with child care and the autistic population in Mississippi needed a lot of attention since there were not a lot of services for those people,” Scott said. “That led to parents needing to leave their job to be home with their child or find care that truly wasn’t what they needed to make progress. This new facility in Gluckstadt will have the needed equipment for those needs.” 

Construction for the new location was approved in September 2022, and is expected to be completed in late August or early September of this year. 

Scott said the new Gluckstadt Facility will help parents with therapeutic child care, rehabilitation therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. 

“Enrollment is open from ages 1-5, and it is not just for children with developmental delays, but also for neurotypical children,” Scott said. “We are calling this inclusive child care, and want to help as many children as we can. We thought having an inclusive childcare setting would allow for growth.” 

The Gluckstadt facility will mirror the Pearl facility, but it will be around 2,000 square feet larger. 

“We are accepting enrollment and our facility will be holding around 35 students starting off,” Scott said. “Our number to contact is 601-521-4934. What we do will help children be ready for grade school.”
