Newest Madison carwash open for business
MADISON – The new GoShine Express Carwash on Highway 51 is open for business to give residents here another option to keep their cars clean.
Although the new carwash had a soft opening to the public on August 10, the City of Madison held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday morning along with free carwashes to those who attended as thanks for supporting the business.
Developer Bridgeforth Rutledge attended the ribbon cutting and said the carwash is now the fifth GoShine location, the others being in Brandon, Ridgeland, Gluckstadt, and Daphne, Alabama. The city approved the site plan for it in 2018 and gave the green light for construction in 2019.
“We love the facility, and we know the important thing is now how it looks today, but how it’s run and how it looks years from now,” Rutledge said. “We’re going to make sure it stays just as nice and operates just like is today in the future. We love Madison and the mayor has been great to work with. We’re very proud of this and I think it’s our nicest location.”
“We want to operate it in the same fashion and quality level the building has,” he said.
Among those attending where aldermen Guy Bowering and Paul Tankersley, director of Madison Parks and Recreation Cole Smith, mayor’s assistant Janet Danks, and director of community development Kianca Guyton attended the event, along with representatives from surrounding businesses in Madison.
“I’ve heard nothing but great things about this car wash,” said Amy Cummins, events coordinator for the city of Madison. “I had a friend tell me that her car hasn’t look that good since she pulled it off the parking lot.”
Alderman Guy Bowering presented Rutledge with a brick as thanks for bringing another business to Madison.
“This was a good business decision since we have a Firestone on one side of the car wash and an oil change place on the other side,” Bowering said. “This will bring in a lot of traffic since once they get their tires and oil change, they can get a car wash too.”
The new GoShine Express Carwash can be found at 1109 U.S. 51 near Firestone Auto Repair and Take 5 Oil Change.
