Multiple developments on Parkway

GLUCKSTADT — A pharmacy, a toy store, restaurants, a nail salon and more are coming to Calhoun Station Parkway.

Sunny Dhunna is overseeing a development next to the Hotspot Market that includes an Exxon convenience store, Taco Loco, and Cheers Wine and Spirits.

He said he hopes the businesses that move into the new space are beneficial to the community and stay long-term.

“We’re developing a three rental unit and brainstorming on what to put in there, from donut shops to clinics, and there are even some folks trying to bring national franchises there,” Dhunna said. “We’re not sure what will be in there yet but we expect to know soon. We just broke ground on it this past Friday and hope to be done within six months, and around 8 months if there are any weather delays.”

Dhunna’s development is located at the intersection of Calhoun Station and Church Road.

Another large development, located at 154 Calhoun Station, will have a Methodist Rehabilitation Center, Simpli Nails, Soulshine Pizza, Time 4 Toys, and Gluckstadt Pharmacy.

Gluckstadt city officials said two more vacant spots are available in this development.

The Germantown Village development is still ongoing, with plans for a Madison Motor Werks and two hotels, Springhill Suites and Home 2 Suites. The development’s design is inspired by the city’s German heritage and is located on Calhoun Station Parkway on the north side of Gluckstadt Road between I-55. In addition to the two hotels and Madison Motor Werks, the development will also include a Chevron gas station and three retail centers, which are currently under construction and expected to be completed this summer, as well as Tesla charging stations.

A new development is also going up just north of Sullivan’s, known as The Platz, and will include retail stores, fine dining, a jewelry store, and commercial real estate. Construction is expected to begin around the start of 2024 and is estimated to be around 19,400 square feet with a stand-alone building.
