Madison Schools closing Tuesday
Citing winter storms and potential power outages, Madison County School officials have announced the canceling of classes for tomorrow.
Director of Communications Gene Wright made the announcement on Monday, February 15, that all school operations will be closed on Tuesday, February 16.
“In the interest of safety and practicality, on Tuesday, February 16, Madison County Schools is canceling classes, both in-person and virtual, and closing all campuses for the day,” She said.
The announcement cited a state of emergency for the area from the Governor’s office and a winter storm that is causing “treacherous road conditions across our District.” She said they also anticipate potential power outages.
“We continue to monitor the forecast and will communicate plans for the remainder of the week as the situation develops,” She said.
