Two juveniles reported missing in Tennessee are in the custody of local law enforcement following a chase through Madison County by the Highway Patrol that ended in the dead-end at Lost Rabbit.

MHP spokesman Corporal Marcus White said that the pursuit was initiated and conducted by MHP on Interstate 55 at 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday when an MHP trooper observed a green Honda Accord traveling southbound on I-55 at a high rate of speed near Mississippi 463.

“Trooper Davis activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle, in which the driver ignored,” White said. “As a result, the driver lead Trooper Davis onto Hoy Road into the Lost Rabbit subdivision.”

Madison Police Capt. Kevin Newman said that their department assisted MHP Tuesday morning.

“When it exited the interstate in Madison and continued east onto Madison Parkway/Hoy Road our agency provided assistance and backup,” Newman said.

White said that the pursuit ended in Lost Rabbit with a single-vehicle accident and the two juveniles were taken into custody.

The two juvenile occupants were reported missing by the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. The green Honda Accord had been reported stolen also by the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office. Both missing juveniles were taken into custody without incident and transported to Pelahatchie Juvenile Detention Center.

Newman said that no injuries were reported though there was minor damage to the pursued vehicle.
