Hannan appointed to judicial board

Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Randolph appointed Madison County Court Judge Edwin Hannan as an alternate member of the Commission on Judicial Performance on Nov. 1.

House Speaker Philip Gunn recommended Judge Hannan to take the place on the judicial disciplinary body previously held by Rankin County Court Judge Kent McDaniel, who retired Sept. 30. The appointive term will end Dec. 31, 2026.

The Commission on Judicial Performance investigates allegations of judicial misconduct and makes recommendations for discipline to the Supreme Court. The Commission includes seven members and seven alternates. An alternate member sits on a judicial disciplinary hearing panel when a member has a conflict or cannot otherwise participate.
