GLUCKSTADT — The Lucky City expressed appreciation to all who took part in organizing the first Gluckstadt Christmas Parade with a resolution last week.

The parade theme was “North Pole of the New City” and took place on Dec. 10.

Alderman Lisa Williams introduced the honorees at the start of the Jan. 11 board meeting, which included Parade Coordinator and businesswoman Jeanie Robinson, businesswoman Jessie Campbell, and Gluckstadt-Madison Bussiness Alliance representatives Elizabeth Tyler and Kristen Lambert.

Williams also recognized city staff for their part in the parade, including City Clerk Lindsay Kellum, Janet Brooks, Bridgette Smith, Police Chief Wendell Watts, Assistant Police Chief Barry Hale, Mike McCollum, William Hall, and the rest of the Gluckstadt Police Department.

“The resolution I’m bringing forward is on behalf of the mayor and board,” Williams said. “We can never give you enough thanks.”

The resolution states that the parade was a great event that allowed the community to gather and celebrate the holiday season, and the city would not have been able to hold it without the help and support of key members of the community and municipal employees.

Williams made a motion to adopt the resolution, and Alderman Mia Bates seconded the motion. The motion carried with a unanimous vote.
