Gluckstadt City Hall accepting letters to Santa

Through Dec. 11, children can submit letters to Santa Claus at Gluckstadt City Hall and receive a reply from the jolly man himself.

“We did this last year and it was very successful,” Janet Brooks, executive administrative assistant for the City of Gluckstadt and organizer of the letter drive, said.

Santa’s Postal Box was placed at the front door of city hall, located at 343 Distribution Drive in Glcukstadt, last week just before Thanksgiving. Brooks said as of Tuesday, Nov. 28, the city had received about three letters to Santa.

Last year the program sent out around 35 letters and Brooks said they hoped to repeat that or more this year.

Letters are submitted in the box and Glcukstadt officials see to it that the letter makes it safely to Santa who will then write a response.

“Please don't forget to include a return address,” Brooks said to any children or parents who may want to submit a letter.

Brokers said the letters are a great keepsake or scrapbook item to remember the Christmas Season.

Brooks said they will probably need all letters in by Monday, Dec. 11 to ensure a response before Dec. 25. For more information, contact the city at 769-567-2306
