Flora Supper Club will offer fine dining

FLORA — Chef David Raines has announced he’s converting his celebrated Dave’s Triple B Barbecue Restaurant into an exclusive supper club more reflective of his extensive culinary training.

The historic red brick building along the railroad tracks will be home to The Flora Supper Club and other fine dining events created by Raines and his staff.

The Flora Supper Club kicked off in the latter part of 2022 with six course international wine dinners ranging from Spain, Italy and France.  The Flora Supper Club membership is open to the general public and each event is by reservations only.

“The continued growth of the Flora food scene is ever evolving and we wanted to fill a void that offered a dining experience unlike any other and in the tradition of the legendary Delta Supper Club,” Raines said. “While we will miss the hustle and bustle of the wonderful Triple B lunch crowd, we always wanted to put into practice my training in fine dining and wine pairings from my many years abroad.”

Raines comes to this point in his career after a culinary tour of the world where he shared his talents in restaurants in Italy, Denmark, Australia, Germany and Japan. He has cooked for Michelin-rated Rene Redzepi’s Noma in Denmark as well as Emeril Lagasse’s Nola in New Orleans. While working in the Big Easy he was lured to the famed R’evolution restaurant in the French Quarter where has talents resulted in his opening Seafood R’evolution in Ridgeland where he was named Chef de Cuisine.

One year later he left to build his own business which continues to thrive in Flora and encompasses The Flora Butcher, Raines Cellars, The Triple B and now The Flora Supper Club.

“After five years, think of this as more of a pause in the Triple B’s existence,” Raines added. “The reception to our Flora Supper Club has been overwhelming with events selling out some three months in advance. For the foreseeable future we want to give our members the finest multi-course wine dinners the likes of which can only be had in Flora.  As our investment grows with the town we hope to offer both the Flora Supper Club and Dave’s Triple B in the not too distant future.”
