Madison County Schools recently announced Ben Dew will serve as Director of Operations for the district. Mr. Dew brings more than two decades of experience in education to the role as a teacher and coach at the high school and community college level. He currently serves as head ninth-grade football coach and varsity assistant football coach as well as driver education instructor at Germantown High School.

“Stepping into the role of Director of Operations for Madison County Schools, I’m honored to lead a team dedicated to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient learning environment for our students and staff. I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to working hand in hand with administrators, faculty, and staff to keep Madison County Schools on top,” says Dew.

As director of operations Mr. Dew will oversee the physical plant for all 23 district sites as well as contracts for facilities cleaning and upkeep and landscape maintenance. He will supervise the district team of HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, painters, and maintenance professionals.

“Mr. Dew is a team player who knows how to get things done. His experience as a coach will be a tremendous asset as he leads our maintenance team and ensures that our district facilities are in excellent shape and ready to serve the needs of our students and faculty,” says Madison County Schools Deputy Superintendent Ted Poore.

Mr. Dew attended Hinds Community College and graduated from Arkansas State University with bachelor’s degree in physical education. He earned an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. Mr. Dew and his wife Devona have been married for 26 years. Their children, Jackson and Darby, are both graduates of Germantown High School. Jackson will graduate from Mississippi State University this spring with an engineering degree, and Darby is a student at East Mississippi Community College where she is pursuing a degree in nursing.

Mr. Dew will begin his new role this summer when current Director of Operations Jay Harrison transitions into the position of assistant superintendent at the district office.
