Canton murder remains unsolved

CANTON — A Memorial Day shooting that killed a 50-year-old man here remains under investigation.
The victim has been identified as Nathan Smith, 50, of Canton, according to Police Chief Otha Brown.
“We are pursuing some leads but have made no arrests,” Brown said. “This is an ongoing investigation.”
CPD was called around 4 a.m. on May 27, to the corner of George Washington Avenue and Boyd Street. They found Smith had been shot multiple times.
Brown said the motive could be robbery.
This is the fifth murder in the city of Canton this year, according to Brown.
