$28 million road grants given
The Central Mississippi Planning and Development District Metropolitan Planning Organization announced on Tuesday more than $28 million in grant awards for 26 projects in the three metro area counties.
Madison County received $2.72 million to widen Weisenberger Road from U.S. 51 to Parkway Easy along with $737,500 for a new traffic signal at Yandell Road at North Old Canton Road.
Madison received $281,050 for Highway 463 improvements from Crawford Stree to Main Street and over $1 million for Rice Road overlay work.
Gluckstadt received nearly $3.5 million to widen Gluckstadt Road from I-55 to Planters Road and $759,000 for Calhoun Station Parkway overlay.
Ridgeland received nearly $6 million for work on Lake Harbour and Highland Commerce Drive Connector, along with $575,000 for lighting upgrades.
