William Thomas “Bill” Brown was called to Heaven on Friday, July 9, 2021. He would always tell others that he was looking forward to seeing his mother, daddy and brother Ben in Heaven with Jesus, and now he is there.

Bill was born on December 31, 1942, in Utica, MS to Robert S. Brown and Laura Dudley Brown. He moved to Jackson in 1944 when his dad became superintendent of the Mississippi School for the Deaf. While growing up there, Bill learned sign language and how to communicate with the deaf. He attended the Little Red Schoolhouse.

After his dad’s retirement from the deaf school in 1974, Bill moved with his parents to the Belhaven area where he was and remained until his homegoing a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.

Bill enjoyed watching westerns, game shows and wrestling. He helped out his neighbors by mowing yards.

He was a resident in the men's home at the Mustard Seed for almost 20 years where he participated in the Handbell Choir and enjoyed all activities. He especially enjoyed painting ceramics and developed his own style - yellow with bright colored hearts. These pieces were popular among patrons of the gift shop.

Bill had recently moved to SON Valley in Canton. He adjusted well, made new friends and was happy there.

Bill's faith was very important to him and he enjoyed going to church. Daily prayer was very important to him. He also enjoyed cheering for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He was an enthusiastic and animated storyteller and a very loving person. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Bill is survived by his brothers, Bob Brown (Margaret) of Madison, MS and Richard Brown (Janice) of Columbia, LA and his sister, Betty Mobley of Utica, and numerous nieces and nephews.
