William Theodore (Ted) Crawley
William Theodore (Ted) Crawley, 89, of Madison, MS peacefully passed away August 11, 2024 at St. Dominic Hospital, after a brief illness.
Ted was born on April 3, 1935, the youngest of 7 siblings and raised in Hollandale, MS. He met and married his wife, Lee, while attending Mississippi College where he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees.
Ted spent his career as a teacher, coach, and principal. He was principal at Barr Elementary, Bradley Elementary, and retired from Lester Elementary, all in Jackson. He was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Director, and head of security.
He became a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church, when he lived in Clinton. He and Lee retired to the shores of Lake Caroline near Madison, MS. After they moved to Lake Caroline, they joined Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland, MS.
Ted is preceded in death by his wife, Annielie W. Crawley of McComb, MS; his parents, Carl Leo Crawley and Vincie Turner Crawley, of Hollandale MS; his 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and son-in-law Michael Medlin of NC.
He is survived by his 4 children, Ted Crawley Jr. (Becky) of Madison, MS, Tina Crawley Medlin of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Karlanne Coates (Bill) of Clinton, MS, Cary Crawley (Tanya) of Ridgeland, MS; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held August 21 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS.
