Wellspring Church votes to join Global Methodist Church
GLUCKSTADT — Wellspring Church announced recently that, during a congregational meeting held on Nov. 17, its members voted with an overwhelming 94% approval to affiliate with the Global Methodist Church (GMC). This decision marks a significant step in the church’s journey as it seeks to align with the GMC’s mission of spreading scriptural holiness and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
The vote reflects months of prayer, discussion, and discernment among church leadership and members, as they considered how best to live out their faith and ministry in the current denominational landscape.
“We are excited about this new chapter for Wellspring Church,” said Matt Ayars, Senior Pastor of Wellspring Church. “Joining the Global Methodist Church allows us to continue our mission with a renewed commitment to the values and theological foundation that have guided us for so long. We look forward to partnering with other like-minded congregations to share the love of Christ in our community and beyond.”
The Global Methodist Church officially launched in 2022, offering a new denominational home for churches that emphasize historic Wesleyan teachings, biblical authority, and vibrant mission outreach. The decision to affiliate with the GMC was driven by Wellspring Church’s desire to connect with a network of congregations sharing these values.
The transition will include an administrative process overseen by church leadership in coordination with the GMC, and members are encouraged to remain engaged as Wellspring moves forward into this exciting season of ministry.
