Vicksburg men busted with drugs, guns

GLUCKSTADT — Two Vicksburg men were arrested on drug charges here when they were arrested with a large amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Ishmael M. Williams, 26, and Stuart Delee Thomas, 24, were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute on Jan. 27, Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale said. 

They were also caught with guns, and Hale said due to the firearms collected during the investigation, both would face enhanced penalties.

GPD officers first encountered the duo around 1 p.m. on Church Road just east of the intersection with Old Jackson Road, Hale said. They were stopped in a vehicle driven by Thomas for illegal window tint.

During the stop, officers discovered evidence leading to the charges, Hale said.

The two were then booked at the Gluckstadt Police Department and subsequently transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
