U.S kicks off 4th at Livingston Thursday
The Fourth of July weekend kicks off Thursday at Livingston with the ultimate small-town celebration and The Band U.S, wrapping up on Monday with Madison’s annual fireworks show at Liberty Park.
Ridgeland’s Balloon Glow is set for Friday evening at Northpark with the Dialogue, the Blues Boyz, and the Victory Belles followed by fireworks. The Canton Balloon Fest gets underway too.
The Thursday event at the Town of Livingston will be the final Livingston Spring Market for the year with the bash that begins at 5 p.m. and lasts until about 9:30 p.m. culminating with a fireworks show.
Food trucks, children’s activities in the Kid’s Zone will be a part of the celebration. The Rails will open for U.S.
Tickets are $15 at eventbrite.com or will be $20 at the gate. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.
The Town of Livingston is located at 116 Livingston Church Road, Flora, MS 39071, at the intersection of Mississippi 463 and Mississippi 22.
Madison Fireworks show
Since the Fourth of July falls on a Sunday, the city of Madison’s fireworks show is set for 9 p.m. Monday, July 5 at Liberty Park.
Food trucks will start serving at 7:30 p.m.
Vendors include Burgers & Blues, Hog Heaven BBQ, One Guy Steak and Chicken, Pizza Shack and Snow Critters and possibly a dessert truck.
The best viewing area is in Liberty Park, said Nathan Hanson, Madison parks and recreation director.
“The playground and activity fields will be open, and we hope everyone comes out,” he said.

Ridgeland Balloon Glow
Starting a 5 p.m. on Friday, there will be food vendors, music, a children’s fun area and fireworks at Northhpark.
Entertainment will be provided by the Dialogue, the Blues Boyz, and the Victory Belles. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
