Unidentified body found at Ridgeland landfill
RIDGELAND- Police are working to identify a body discovered Monday at the landfill here, Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers said.
On Monday, March 24, at 1:29 p.m., Ridgeland Police responded to the Little Dixie Landfill, located at 1716 North County Line Road, in Ridgeland in reference to a deceased individual being found in the landfill by an employee of the business, Myers said.
“Ridgeland PD detectives responded and processed the scene as thoroughly as possible,” Myers said Tuesday when RPD announced the find.
The individual has not yet been identified and detectives continue to work to positively identify him, Myers said.
The deceased is described as a black male, gray stubble beard, balding with white stubble, wearing a dark colored t-shirt bearing “United States Postal Service” with logo in yellow on the front of the shirt.
“No further information will be released until the individual is positively identified and next of kin is notified,“ Myers said.
