Trustcare expanding to offer mental health care

TrustCare Health, a leading provider of urgent care and primary care services in Mississippi, is proud to announce the expansion of its healthcare offerings with the introduction of TrustCare Mental Health & Wellness Services. This new line of care will provide accessible, high-quality mental health support for adolescents and adults, bringing much-needed resources to central Mississippi and the surrounding area.

The need for comprehensive mental health services has never been greater. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), one in five adults in the U.S. experiences a mental health condition each year, and mental health concerns among adolescents have reached crisis levels. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges have only been exacerbated by social, economic, and pandemic-related stressors.

• Telehealth and In-Person Appointments – Convenient access to mental health professionals through both in-person visits and secure virtual appointments.

• Integrated Approach to Care – TrustCare mental health providers collaborate with primary care physicians and urgent care providers to offer holistic, whole-person care.

Coburn said this new line of care will be available initially at TrustCare’s Lake Harbour location in Ridgeland, with plans for future expansion based on patient needs.

At the clinic level, TrustCare Mental Health & Wellness Services will be administered by Thomas Howington, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC. An experienced psychiatric mental health provider with more than 17 years in the medical field, he has an exceptional reputation for helping individuals from pediatric to geriatric age by diagnosing, treating and managing their mental health disorders. For nearly half of his career, he has provided primary care to children and adolescents with a history of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, depression, mood disorders, and developmental delay. He received his Master of Science in Nursing  with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner major from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
