Swing Into Summer ending tonight

Madison's Swing Into Summer will have its second and final event tonight (Thursday) to give Madison residents another night of food, fun and entertainment.

The event held at the Red Caboose on Main Street returned May 7 has some new festivities scheduled this week such as a dance party for the children, and characters walking around taking pictures with the children.

Nathan Hanson, parks and recreation director for the city of Madison, said Swing Into Summer is usually held four times every year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is only being held twice this year.

“We wanted to add a little more this year with the dance party and characters for the kids,” Hanson said. “These characters will be two princesses and two heroes. It is undetermined who these heroes and princesses will be yet.”

Hanson said there will be live music and food vendors such as Pizza Shack, Raising Cane's and Sno Biz Snow Cones. Activities such as train rides and inflatables will also be available for children. He said people attending welcome to bring their own food.

“If the event is rained out, it will be moved to next Thursday,” he said. “We hope to see you all at the Red Caboose for another night of fun in Madison.”
