A Canton man has turned himself in after escaping the custody of Ridgeland Police last week.

Anterrion Terryn Robinson, 26, of Canton was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm, aggravated assault, felony escape and disturbing the peace.

Robinson remains in the Madison County Detention Center and has not been issued bond.

Ridgeland Police Chief John Neal said that Robinson turned himself in to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department on Monday morning, March 28, on outstanding arrest warrants.

Neal said that Robinson’s initial arrest was on Thursday, March 24. It was reported that at approximately 2:15 p.m., RPD had taken custody of Robinson on outstanding arrest warrants for aggravated assault.

Robinson was escorted to the Criminal Investigations Division to be interviewed by a detective when he fled from the building while in custody, Neal said.

“Robinson left the area and efforts to immediately locate him were unsuccessful,” Neal said.

Investigators believe Robinson was able to contact someone to pick him up and flee the area. A subsequent investigation indicated Robinson was observed in the City of Canton late in the day on Thursday, March 24.

Robinson would be at large for four days before turning himself in.
