Moffett and Walley Orthodontics off of Key Drive is displaying dozens of pieces of art from Germantown Middle School students.

Leslie Moffett, the wife of Dr. Jared Moffett, said her husband’s practice recently donated supplies and materials to the Art and Music Department at GMS.

“We heard from a friend at the school that the music and art programs always need sponsors,” Leslie said.

In addition to the donation, they decided to display student art in the practice.

“The patients love it,” Leslie said.

Art includes a variety of subjects, including landscapes, office designs, and portraits of people with braces.

Leslie said the art went up at the end of September, and they hosted several students and their families in an open house to view the artwork.

One student sticks with Leslie in particular. She remembers Eva Adams walking in the nook where her art was displayed. When Eva saw her piece of art, all she could do was put her hand over her mouth.

“We really want to roll out the red carpet for these students,” Leslie said. “We want them to have the special chance to see their art displayed.”

The Moffett’s are working with teachers in the Art Department at GMS to rotate the displays as students produce more art and hope to display new pieces as early as next year.

Leslie said students who have pieces on display are always welcome to come see their art on the wall.
