Driving behaviors across the country continue to evolve during the COVID-19 pandemic leading to policy decreases amongst providers.

Based on current trends, State Farm has filed to reduce auto insurance rates in Mississippi by 9.5 percent. If approved, this rate cut will save more than 538,000 State Farm customers a total of $45.3 million. The rate change applies to current customers at policy renewal, as well as new and returning customers.

"We are pleased to be able to continue to help our Mississippi customers in this way, during this unprecedented time." said John Langcuster, Vice President, Agency/Sales.

In addition to the auto rate reduction, the discount for participating in Drive Safe & Save is increasing to 10 percent.

Rate changes are subject to regulatory approval. Customer rates vary by each individual.
