Smith tapped as general manager at Flora’s Raines Cellars

FLORA — Chef David Raines, owner of the newly created fine wine and rare spirits shop Raines Cellars, has named Anne Marie Smith General Manager of the much anticipated new establishment. 

Smith comes to Raines Cellars after 16 years in the Mississippi restaurant and catering industry.

Smith’s career in the restaurant industry began at Atlantica in 2006 as a hostess, which ultimately led her to 4Top Hospitality in 2010. From there, she worked her way up to management and began developing a Sales & Marketing Manager role in 2012. Four years later, she laid the blueprints for launching 4Top Catering. As Senior Sales Manager at 4Top Hospitality, where she oversaw sales initiatives for both the restaurant family and 4Top Catering. 

In addition, Smith supervised a team of sales and operations personnel assigned to execute some of Jackson’s biggest events. 4Top Catering was consistently ranked in the top event professionals in the state, racking up accolades from across several publications, and several cover weddings for I Do Y’all as well as Best of Mississippi: Weddings.  

In 2017, Smith was named one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Under 40. She has served on the board of The Madison County Business League Young Professionals Group from 2017-2021. In 2021, she was named Madison County’s Young Professional of the Year. 

Smith believes food and spirits bring people together for comfort, celebratory events, and social gatherings. Her passion for the hospitality and culinary world has been greatly influenced and refined by industry heavy hitters including restaurateur David Conn, Chef David Raines, and Chef Ken Crotwell.

As General Manager, she re-teams with Chef Raines and will oversee the day-to-day operations of Raines Cellars. She will offer cellar consulting, complimentary weekly tastings, and an extensive library of the wonderful world of wine and spirits. 

Raines Cellars is located at 4843 Main Street in Flora. The shop marks the third business Chef David Raines has created in the picturesque historic village. 

His initial business was the opening of The Flora Butcher in 2016, located next to Raines Cellars. In addition, he owns and operates Dave’s Triple B: Barbecue, Beer & Blues Restaurant also located on Flora’s Main Street along the railroad tracks.
