Slaven appointed assistant police chief
The City of Gluckstadt recently announced the appointments of a new assistant police chief, along with other promotions and additions.
Jeremy Slaven was recently appointed the new assistant chief of police. Other personnel changes include the appointments of Lt. Stephen Tucker, Sgt. Kyrie Lucas, Sgt. Roy Dickerson, Officer Joseph Mullins. The city also approved the hiring of two part-time officers, Angela Harper, and Jessie Smith, Jr. within the Gluckstadt Police Department. These appointments and additions to the department's personnel are aimed at further enhancing public safety and strengthening community relations.
Assistant Chief Slaven has been promoted to the position of Assistant Chief of Police after demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to the Gluckstadt community over the last year. With eleven years of experience in law enforcement, Assistant Chief Slaven has consistently exhibited professionalism, integrity, and a dedication to serving the residents of Gluckstadt.
Lt. Tucker has been appointed to the rank of Lieutenant within the Gluckstadt Police Department. With eight years of experience in law enforcement, Lt. Tucker has proven to be a valuable asset to the department, displaying strong leadership and investigatory skills and a deep understanding of community policing.
Sgt. Kyrie Lucas and Sgt. Roy Dickerson were hired in early October by the Board of Aldermen, after recommendation by Chief Barry Hale. With a combined forty years of service in law enforcement, Sergeant Lucas and Sergeant Dickerson have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for ensuring the safety, and we look forward to having them join the Gluckstadt Police Department.
In addition to these promotions, the Gluckstadt Police Department has hired additional officers to bolster its ranks. Officer Mullins, Officer Harper, and Officer Smith bring a diverse range of skills and experiences to the department, further enhancing its ability to serve the community effectively.

The Gluckstadt Police Department has 12 full-time officers, 5 part-time officers, 5 reserve officers and a newly purchased K9, Boujee, helping patrol Gluckstadt. The city is in the process of building a new police department in the heart of the city and it will be located at 140 Gluckstadt Way.
