Sip Outdoors filling local need

The owners of Sip Outdoors hope to bring a combined lifetime of hunting experience to the floor of their brand-new hunting goods store in Gluckstadt.

Sip Outdoors opened on August 22, CEO and part-owner Zach McCraw said. He said they want to offer the hunting community what he calls “The Ritz Carlton” experience.

“We want our staff to meet you at the door and say ‘Hey how can we help you today,’” McCraw said.

He said he and a few members of his family have seen a need for a hunting good store in the area since at least 2009.

“We are family-owned and local,” McCraw said. “I have been an outdoorsman and have been thinking about this for quite some time.”

Last September, the long-time dream became a reality when they found the building at 412 Business Park Drive. By March they had struck a deal to move in and started building out the space.

Sip Outdoors offers everything from guns and ammunition to shooting houses and duck blinds. They also carry a selection of casual men’s wear.

“We are growing,” McCraw said. “We want to be Madison’s premier hunting store.”

Though McCraw said they can help with most anyone’s hunting needs, they specialize in duck hunting.

“It is a 60-day season and we probably try to hunt 30 of those days,” McCraw said. “That is something we are passionate about and have a bunch of knowledge about.”
