RIDGELAND — A Kosciusko woman was arrested near Norhpark late last month when a canine discovered drugs in her vehicle, authorities said.

The woman, Lauren Kolby Gove, 33, of Kosciusko, was arrested and charged with trafficking of a controlled substance, RPD Lt. Brett Bertucci said.

RPD officer encountered Gove at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, when a K9 Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Gove in the south parking lot of Northpark, Bertucci said.

During the course of the traffic stop, the officer became suspicious that Gove was involved in criminal activity.

“RPD K9 Titus was utilized and alerted to the presence of narcotics in Gove’s vehicle,” Bertucci said.

As a result, Gove was found to be in possession of approximately 54 dosage units of Ecstasy also known as MDMA, Bertucci said. The drugs have an approximate street value of $500, he said.
