RIDGELAND — Owners of an eight-court volleyball facility under construction off of Lake Harbour Drive say they hope to open in mid-March.

Brian Hazelwood, co-owner and club director of Infinity Volleyball currently located in Flowood, said that they hope to open their Ridgeland location between March 15 and April 1.

“Right now we are only a couple of weeks behind our original goal of March 1 but we are excited,” Hazelwood said.

The new facility is located in Ridgeland on Harbour Pointe Crossing behind Slim Chickens and Bulldog Burger.

The facility is just under 40,000 square feet and will have eight volleyball courts. Hazelwood said that they will be up and running soon after they move in.

Currently, the club has about 219 young women ages 8 to 18 who play on 19 competitive teams. The club currently has 26 employees.

Hazelwood said that after opening they hope to start hosting tournaments as early as June and restart their less competitive recreational league, which could mean between 200 and 300 additional players.

Hazelwood started the company with his wife, Jenny, in 2016. Jenny Hazelwood was the director of Infinity Volleyball until she was announced as the head volleyball coach at the University of Southern Mississippi in December.
