The Mississippi State Personnel Board announces that Henry Williams will serve as the agency’s director of operations. In this role, Williams will oversee the agency’s internal operations including communications, information technology, and administrative services.  He will also supervise MSPB staff’s administrative support of the Employee Appeals Board.

Williams brings more than 28 years of private and public sector work experience in management and human resources. His public sector experience started with Mississippi’s Department of Finance and Administration as an HR specialist, and he most recently served as deputy administrator for Mississippi Public Broadcasting. His tenure in the private sector included leadership positions throughout various manufacturing facilities for Delphi Automotive Systems and General Motors Corporation.

“Henry’s qualifications, including his experience in state government, human resources, and management, will benefit both the MSPB team and the agencies we serve,” says MSPB Executive Director Kelly Hardwick.

Williams is a graduate of the Mississippi State Personnel Board’s Human Resource Certification Program. He is also an active member of many professional organizations, boards, and committees including the Mississippi Association of Personnel Administrators and the Society for Human Resource Management.

A native of Washington, D.C., Williams earned a master’s degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Howard University.

He and his wife, Nichole, live in Ridgeland and have two daughters, Zaria and Zoe.
