A Ridgeland man was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other charges in connection to around ten shots reported fired at a Pine Knoll Drive apartment complex on Sunday.

Myciah Jawon Haralson, 22, of Ridgeland has been arrested and charged with shooting into a dwelling, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and attempted murder.

Ridgeland Police Chief John Neal said on Tuesday, November 24 said that Haralson is currently held at the Madison County Detention Center awaiting an initial appearance and bond hearing. Ridgeland PD also discovered an outstanding indictment warrant on Haralson for Auto Burglary.

Neal said that on Sunday, November 22, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Ridgeland Police Department officers responded to Madison Park Apartments at 110 Pine Knoll Drive on a report of gunshots in the area. Witnesses on scene indicated they heard up to 10 shots fired from the area of the apartment complex office. During their investigation, Neal said officers located numerous shell casings in the apartment complex parking lot.

Investigators working the scene were able to identify Haralson as a suspect and determined the victim was targeted due to his relationship with a female at the complex. Neal said that Haralson has a relationship on some level with the female who lives at the complex and the victim was at the complex to visit her.

The victim fled in his vehicle upon seeing Haralson display a weapon and in doing so, Haralson fired numerous shots into his fleeing vehicle.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Monday night, Haralson was taken into custody in Ridgeland near a relative’s home. Haralson was captured with the assistance of the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force members and the Ridgeland Police Department Patrol Division.

An additional victim came forward from an adjacent apartment complex, and this victim had a fired projectile enter their apartment through an outside wall.

Neal said that the incident is an active investigation and additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming.
