At the March 2 meeting of the Ridgeland Mayor and Board of Aldermen, the board unanimously approved a pay estimate in the amount of $14,594.39 to Neel Schaffer for work done on Highland Colony Parkway-Renaissance Costco driveway’s traffic signals.

The payment was for consulting fees to Construction Engineering & Inspection.

The work was done between Jan. 2 and Jan 29. A memo regarding the work from public Works Director Mike McCollum said that the work would be 100% reimbursed with federal funds.

The memo noted that CE&I has invoiced a total of $17,142.33 and has $62,809.58 remaining on their contract.

The item passed unanimously with no discussion on the consent agenda.

In other board action, the board:

• Approved sewer adjustments

• Reapproved Community Bank as the city depository for 2021 and 2022. The city approves depository every two years. City Clerk Paula Tierce said Community Bank offered the best interest rates and waived a number of fees.

Community Bank also allows the city to scan checks electronically to streamline payments and deposits. Ward 4 Alderman Brian Ramsey recused himself because he works in banking. The item passed unanimously 6-0 as the only regular agenda item for the evening.

• Approved Ramsey’s appointment of Theresa Kennedy to the Zoning Board.

• Approved the payment of claims.
