Reunion horse shooting leads still sought
REUNION — The investigation is continuing into the horses that were shot on Christmas Day at the Reunion Stables.
Madison Police Lt. Micah Taylor said the incident is “still an open and active investigation.”
MPD responded to The Reunion Horse Stables, 515 Gluckstadt Road, to a report of two horses being shot.
Investigators believe the shootings occurred between the hours of 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 25. The horses were found shot by stable workers at about 8 a.m. Christmas morning.
One of the horses succumbed to its injuries on scene, and one was taken to a local veterinary clinic and is expected to make a recovery, Taylor said.
