Police seek man after shooting

The Canton Police Department is asking for public assistance in locating a person wanted in connection with a shooting over the weekend.

Christopher Turnage, 25, is wanted by the Canton Police Department for attempt to commit an offense in reference to a shooting in Canton which left one person shot. Turnage is 5’11” and about 150 pounds.

Canton Police Chief Otha Brown said that the shooting occurred on a Saturday morning in June at the K&K Convenince Store on Fulton Street. 

“We have been trying to get him,” Brown said. “We have put the (U.S.) Marshals on him and asked for help from other agencies including the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office.”

Brown said that attempts to track Turnage down have been “unsuccessful.” The investigation is ongoing. 

“Nobody seems to know where he is,” Brown said.

He said that the victim has made a full recovery and is back at work.
