Nissan truck production halted slightly

CANTON — Nissan temporarily halted production of trucks for three days due to a shortage of semiconductor chips, a spokesperson said.
They were down two days in January and one day in February, despite media reports suggesting there was a larger problem.
There were no layoffs, no job reduction, and really no story, said Nissan spokesperson Lloryn Love-Carter.
Reuters initially published a two-sentence report Tuesday evening saying that truck production in Canton was suspended.
“As the situation continues to evolve, we may have to make additional adjustments at some point,” Love-Carter said, speaking of the fluidity in the semiconductor market and the demand from all manufacturers.
