JACKSON — New Stage Theatre is presenting the American classic play “The Glass Menagerie” this fall from Oct. 25 through Nov. 6.

“The Glass Menagerie,” by Tennessee Williams, tells the story of Amanda Wingfield who dreams of her days as a Southern debutante from her cramped St. Louis apartment while worrying about the future of her son and unmarried daughter. Her anxiety is only made worse due to her father being absent, the Great Depression being in motion, and her siblings attempting to find comfort in their weaknesses. However, when a gentleman caller arrives for dinner, the Wingfield family’s hopes are raised.

The cast includes Jaclyn Bethany as Laura from Jackson, David Lind as Tom from New Orleans, Sandy York as Amanda from New York, and Joseph Dalfonso as Jim from New York.

The play runs from Oct. 25 to Nov. 6. Curtain times and dates for the performances are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $35 with discounts available for students, senior citizens, military, and groups.
